Homunculus is a manga created by Hideo Yamamoto, was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits from March 17, 2003, to February 21, 2011, spanning 15 tankōbon volumes. Later, Shogakukan republished the series in a ten-volume bunkoban edition from May 15, 2015, to January 15, 2016. Seven Seas Entertainment holds the North American license for the manga and began publishing it in a five-volume omnibus format starting June 27, 2023. Additionally, a live-action film adaptation directed by Takashi Shimizu and starring Gō Ayano premiered in Japan on April 2, 2021, and globally on Netflix on April 22. With its widespread popularity, an anime adaptation for “Homunculus” is highly anticipated. As of September 2020, the manga had over 4 million copies in circulation, showcasing its enduring appeal and success.
